Is there a software sol’n to protecting files on USB drive w/o installing any application?
Airniqueel asked:
I want to protect the files on my USB drive using some kind of software. I am currently using Kubuntu and I need a solution that works on both linux and windows. Basically, I want to be able to encrypt/decrypt files on my USB drive regardless of what OS I am using. In addition, I only have admin access on the linux machine but not the windows machine. From past experience, I am able to connect my USB drive in the windows machine seamlessly. I have heard of truecrypt, but I think it requires admin access. I also don’t want to have to install any application, hence, the software could reside on the USB drive itself and encrypt/decrypt files easily. Does such a solution exist? and how do I go about using it?
