How do I burn the Ubuntu boot disk?

I Accidentally Screwed up my 80 Gig HDD with Windows ME. It seems i deleted my Master Boot Record. I have repeatedly tried to use “Fdisk /MBR” to repair the problem, but the command doesn’t seem to do anything. I can access all of my files using the DOS on my boot disk, but Windows still won’t boot up. I can, however, boot up Xubuntu using a live CD. If I Use the Xubuntu Install to disk feature, it gives me the option to create a new partition. Would Creating a new partition, and installing Linux Create a new MBR? Would that help get Windows ME going again? or would that only compound the problem?

Where can I download an ubuntu boot disk?

How do I remove Ubuntu from my computer and install Windows XP?

Can Ubuntu (actually Xubuntu) be loaded via floppy disk?

i’ve recently deleted linux from my ibm, and now when it tries to start, it still opens up grub and fails?

its an ibm running xp (was running xp in combination with kubuntu linux). I removed linux, but the grub starter is still active, and when the computer loads, it loads with grub with finds an error and then stops. In IBM BIOS setup utility i can’t quite figure out how to remedy this scenario. The computer is a lenovo thinkpad and did not come with a boot disk, but i do have the capability to burn one for it if necessary, but would rather solve the problem within IBM BIOS if that is possible…just want to load with regular ole’ xp. thanks for the help

Recovering Files Using Ubuntu Live CD?

I was trying to format the usb stick to get a boot loader working and stuffed things up. When i restarted my pc it came up with “no operating system installed” or something similar.
I have tried the Super Grub boot disk and G-live/testdisk for the past few hours with no joy. I have two hard disks in my pc, a 250g which had ubuntu installed and a 80g with XP. I can see both these disk’s from the “Places” menu when i run from the live cd but i cannot mount my ubuntu disk to recover my data (i can mount and access the XP drive though).
When i try to mount the ubuntu drive i get the following error message.
“Cannot mount volume”
“Details”
“mount:wrong fs type,bad option,bad superblock on /dev/sda1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error. In some cases useful info is found in syslog -try dmesg tail or so”
Any help would be really appreciated and if i need to give some more info or explain anything just say so.
