How can i boot from a cd on my mac g3 ?

josh m asked:

Im trying to load xubuntu (linux) onto my mac. But it wont boot! (ive bruned the image onto a cd) but when the computer fully loads it accepts the cd as a cdr.
The problem is i cant get it to boot. I’ve held the the ‘c’ and ‘d’ keys, it wont boot from the cd!

I have a mac powerbook G3 (ppc), adn trying to load xubuntu 7.10.
haha lol, xubuntu allows you to burn it so all disks made are legal

Use a correct legitimate version rather than a copied / burned cd.

Regarding your added comment:- that maybe so but your mac is obviously having a problem with the disc.

If you didn´t burn the DVD/CD as BOOT(ABLE) CD (like in Nero you can choose) than it won´t work. Try it
