If I install Ubuntu inside windows, does windows treat it like a program?

Gabe P asked:

I’m wondering this because if it is, it will be easy to uninstall.
Thank you. I am trying it right now.

    I tried this…

Well I installed the demo mode…and when you restart your computer if you have the Ubuntu CD in the drive, it will ask you what OS you want to start…Ubuntu or Windows.

In Windows under Add/Remove Programs Ubuntu shows up as a program. I haven’t tried un-installing it yet. I am still undecided if I want to move to Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is an operating system. It replaces Windows. So, you can’t install it within Windows unless you’re running virtualization.

If you install Ubuntu you’re going to lose your Windows partition unless you’re smarter than I think you are.
