I need to know how to install xubuntu on my current windows xp machine?

Harrison B asked:

I downloaded the installation…CD? I think they call it a CD. But at any rate, I downloaded it and it’s an ISO file, and I have no idea how to open this so I can complete the installation.

Finding a program to open it from the web service isn’t working, so I ask you…how the hell do I install it?

you will need what’s called an iso burner to burn it onto a cd.
then, make sure your computer will boot from cd (usually its default) put the cd in your cd drive and restart your computer. It SHOULD bring the install menu up.
Of course, the easy way is to just use Wubi:
Where it says ubuntu (after you run wubi) just click the drop down box and select Xubuntu. It lets you dual boot both easily. (but the download seems like it takes forever) You must restart your computer to see the boot menu, of course.
